810 Stainless Flat Top Griddle Plate
Turn the burners into a flat top.
A griddle is the most useful surface at a barbecue, and most barbecues do not come with one.
This plate sits over the burners of a barbecue, a wok ring, a camp stove or a bank of gas rings and gives you 809 by 370 mm of flat stainless to cook on. That is a full breakfast service or a stir-fry that would fall through the grill bars. The sidewalls keep food on the plate, and a trough with a drip hole carries fat away.
Underneath, an X-shaped reinforcement resists warping at heat, which is the thing cheaper plates fail at. It is rated to 260 °C, weighs 6.9 kg, and washes in the sink. Stainless does not need seasoning the way cast iron does.

Questions
Does it need seasoning like a cast iron plate?
No. It is stainless, so there is no seasoning to build or protect. Wipe a film of oil over it once it is hot and cook. Wash it in the sink afterwards and dry it; it will not rust.
Will it work on an induction cooktop?
The maker lists gas, electric and induction cooktops as well as barbecues and camping stoves. On induction, only the part of the plate over the coil heats, so it comes into its own over a barbecue or a bank of gas rings.
How hot can I run it?
Keep it under 260 °C. That is well above the point where oil smokes, so it is not a limit you will reach in normal cooking. Bring it up slowly rather than putting a cold plate over full flame.
Where does the fat go?
Into the grease trough and out through the drip hole. Set the plate so the hole is over a grease cup, an old tin or a foil tray. Scrape toward the hole between batches.
How do I clean it?
While it is still warm, scrape it and wipe with a cloth, as the maker suggests. Once cool, wash it in hot soapy water like a roasting tray.
